Creating and Managing Custom Categories
Lookout Cloud Security Platform provides system categories that you can select to allow or deny access to several types of websites. In addition, you can create custom categories of domains, web URLs, user agents, IP addresses, or processes to manage policy enforcement on a list of values you specify. You can apply these lists to a policy to enforce the access type. For example, you can create different categories so that you can allow or deny access to the entire list of values. For TLS policies, you can also create categories for bypass lists.
You can select three types of custom categories: URLs, domains, or user agents. The allow, deny, or bypass access you specify will apply to values in that category.
The custom category function affects these settings and options in the Management Console:
Selecting Any Website from Destinations menu
When you create policies, the Any Website selection in the Destinations menu enables enforcement of specified policy actions independent of any system or custom category for websites. When you select Any Website, custom and system category selections are disabled. For information about creating policies, see Creating policies for data protection and application security.
Adding or updating user agents under Enterprise Authentication
With custom category lists, we provide a default list of user agent values. This list is imported to the Whitelisted User Agents section on the Enterprise Authentication page ( .
If you need to add more user agents to exclude from proxy authentication, you can select Enterprise Authentication page.
and create a new category list of user agents or edit an existing list. You can then select and select the list name in theThe following topics provide information about viewing and creating custom category lists and updating category information for proxy authentication using the custom categories included when a policy was created.
