Create New Custom Category

  1. Select Protect > Category Management and click New.
  2. Enter a category Name of no more than 30 characters.
    Include only letters, numerals, hyphens, or underscores.
  3. Select a category Type - Web URL, Domain, User Agent, Source IP, Destination IP, or Process.
  4. Enter the web URLs, domains, user agents, IP addresses, or processes to include in the category type.
    Enter each item on a separate line. Example:
    • Enter a web URL (with or without a path) as www.sitename.com or

      www.sitename.com/department.

    • Enter a domain name as mycompany.com or department.mycompany.com.

    • Enter user agent patterns, either as .*Useragentpattern.* or Useragentpattern. (The pattern strings can be matched with or without the leading and trailing .* symbols.) To specifically match the beginning of a user agent pattern string, enter a ^ before the first character of the name (for example, ^Useragentpattern.)

    Click Save to save the entries and close the text box.

  5. (Optional) If applicable, click the Retain System Category toggle to enable the system to retain both the predefined system category and the custom category.
    Any policies associated with both the system and custom category will apply.

    Leave this toggle unselected to apply values for only the custom category.

  6. Click Save.
    You can now apply the category to a policy.
