Setting Up Extended Authentication
Extended authentication provides an additional layer of authentication for network segments that require multiple user authentication for access.
For example, you might need additional authentication when:
- A user authentication solution needs to be separate from the one that is used for general purposes
- You need to configure authentication per environment (network segment)
-
You have a protected network segment that requires multiple user authentication for access
Extended authentication must be configured in the Management Console before it can be enforced as a secondary action in cloud authentication policies. When a user tries to access any environment that requires additional authentication, the configured policy is triggered, directing the user to the identity provider to enter additional login credentials.
Note:Note: Once you configure the extended authentication, you might see page loading issues while trying to access any pages that were accessed previously and the session is elapsed. To resolve this issue, refresh the page that you are trying to access.
