Setting Up and Managing Environments
Every environment you create initially uses the system settings service configurations you applied during initial configuration (and may have updated). You might need to customize those settings with different values for different environments. You can customize service and logging configurations for each environment you create. For example, you might need to add an upstream proxy, change domain names and certificates, or change the logging settings, for an environment.
In hosted (cloud) environments, some values are automatically overridden, and you cannot disable those overrides. For on-premise environments, overrides are enabled, which allows you to change settings for the services you use. It is recommended that you view the settings for the services you plan to use for any on-premise environment you create and configure them as needed.
The Environment Management page stores all information about existing environments. From this page, you can customize (override) the settings for on-premise environments, perform debugging, and duplicate or remove an environment.
The Environment Management page shows the following information for each environment. Use the Column Filter at the upper right to show or hide columns.
- Environment Name -- The name of the environment.
- Assigned Nodes -- The number of nodes currently assigned to the environment. To view the names and versions of the node or nodes, hover over the number hyperlink.
-
Environment Type -- The selected type for the environment: Cloud, On-premise Connector, or
On-premise Gateway Server.
- Services -- The services enabled on nodes associated with the environment.
- For On-premise Connector types: Log Agent, SIEM Agent, or EDLP Agent.
- For On-premise Gateway Server types: Proxy, DPaaS, or Email.
- Created on -- The date on which the environment was created.
- Modified on -- The date (if any) on which the environment was last modified.
- Modified by -- The email address of the user who last modified the environment.
- Version -- The current version for environments with assigned nodes. An up arrow in a circle indicates that a newer version is available. Hover over the icon to view the available version. If no nodes have been assigned, NODE_NOT_ASSIGNED appears here.
- Actions - You can perform the following actions:
- Debug -- Analyze issues pertaining to the nodes of the environment through configuring and retrieving various types of logs.
- Copy (duplicate) and environment.
- Remove an environment.
