Using a Skiplist to Allow In-Flight Wi-Fi Connection
On airline flights, users configured to use Secure DNS may be trying to access in-flight Wi-Fi. However, as they have not yet connected to the Wi-Fi and no alternative internet connection is possible, Secure DNS cannot resolve the Wi-Fi domain, preventing successful Wi-Fi connections.
To avoid such connection issues, MES administrators can add the Wi-Fi domain of the airline in the Secure DNS skip list so that Lookout for Work doesn't try to send these to Lookout servers for resolution. Once the internet connection is established, the internet traffic will be resolved by Lookout servers as usual.
Lookout has identified Wi-Fi domains of well-known airlines around the world for fast import to your environment. The list is not exhaustive. If your employees travel on other airlines and you would like to contribute to our list, please contact Lookout.
