Ignore Issues

You can select one or more issues and click the Ignore button at the top of the list to mark them as ignored issues. In the MES Console, ignored issues are treated as if they are not present. This means:

  • They do not modify the device's Risk Level. If all issues on a device are set to Ignored, then the device is marked as Secured.
  • They do not trigger On-Device Threat Protection. If a device is blocked from the internet due to an active threat and an MES Console Administrator ignores the threat, the device regains internet access.
  • They do not generate alerts in the MES Console.
  • They are not included in summary emails.

On the Lookout for Work client, ignored issues have different behavior depending on the threat type:

Ignored Threat Type Android Client iOS Client
App / File The threat remains active on the device. The threat is hidden on the device.
Denylisted App The threat is hidden on the device.
Configuration The threat is hidden on the device.
Network The threat remains active on the device. An MES Console Administrator can't ignore Network threats on iOS.
OS The threat is hidden on the device. The threat is hidden on the device.
Web Content Web Content threats are always reported as "Resolved," so they cannot be ignored from the console.

* The table above applies to Lookout for Work 5.10 and higher.

Hidden threats don't show up in Lookout for Work, but aren't considered "Resolved." If an MES Console Administrator un-ignores a threat, it displays as an active threat in the Lookout for Work client.

You can review ignored issues by filtering the Issues list on Status > Ignored.

You can Reopen an ignored issue by selecting it and clicking the Reopen button at the top of the list.
