Deployment - Secure Private Access

Secure Private Access, the Lookout zero trust network access (ZTNA) solution, provides secure access to all private applications hosted in both on-premises data centers and private clouds. Secure Private Access requires you to deploy a ZTNA connector close to the private applications, which makes outbound connections to the Lookout Cloud Security Platform. This approach allows access to private applications without requiring modifications to corporate firewalls. All user access is proxied by a trust broker, Lookout Cloud Security Platform, which enforces zero-trust principles securing access to the private applications.

You can deploy Lookout Secure Private Access to provide access to both private web and nonweb applications. These are the basic steps for deploying Secure Private Access:

  • Verify default settings
  • Configure the ZTNA gateway
  • Define the private network with a custom category
  • Define the private environment
  • Deploy connectors to a private environment
  • Define steering configurations and steering policies
  • Deploy the Lookout client to user devices
  • Verify user access in the Lookout client
  • Discover enterprise apps
    Note:

Note: Before performing any of the steps in this section, make sure you complete the steps in the Initial Deployment guide to set up your Lookout Cloud Security Platform instance.
