Create New Key Without Assigning It
You can create a new key that will be available for future assignments.
- From the Key Management page, click New.
- Enter key information.
- Status - Select Active (default) or Inactive. If you want the new key to be available immediately for assignment as a primary key, select Active. A key must have a status of Active to be a primary key.
- Key Name - Enter a name for the new key.
- Key Expiration Date - Enter a date or select a date using the calendar icon.
- Create Key Password - Enter a password, using the guidelines that appear in the popup.
- Confirm Key Password - Re-enter the password.

Select Key Server - Select the key server from either the Cloud KMS list (for hosted deployments) or On-Premise list (for hybrid or on-premise deployments).
- Click Save.The Management Server adds the new key key to the list of keys, with the status you selected (Active or Inactive), and a use state of Never Assigned.
