Onboarding GitLab Applications in Inline mode

  1. From the Management Console, select Administration > App Management, and click New.
  2. From the Choose an app prompt, select GitLab.
  3. Enter a Name. The name must include only alphanumeric characters, with no special characters other than the underscore, and no spaces.
  4. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  5. Select one or more protection models: Authentication and App Access
    1. App Authentication only
    2. App Authentication and App Access
  6. Enter additional information depending on which protection model you selected:
  7. If you selected App Authentication only, then on the next screen, click New to add authorized users or user groups. Click Next.If you selected App Authentication and App Access:
  8. On the Configuration page, enter these details:
  9. Additional Domains - Configure any additional domains for inspection. For example, you may configure shortened URLs or any custom domains that represent app specific traffic.
  10. Email Domain - Enter all the email domains used to sign into the app. For example, if the user signs in with user@example.com, enter example.com.
  11. Group ID - The Group ID is given by the Gitlab. You can find the Group ID in the URL once you login to Gitlab successfully. To find out the group ID, login to GitLab, go to Groups, and select the group which you want to resolve the app to. Check the app URL in the address bar, which resembles the example given below. Example: https://gitlab.com/grouptID. Copy the groupID value from the address bar.
  12. Home Page Url - Capture the app Home page URL from the browser’s address bar. Example: https://gitlab.com/
  13. Click Next.
  14. On the User Access page, click New to add authorized users or user groups and click Next.
  15. Review the summary, verify that all information is correct, and click Save.
