When enhancements, fixes, or patches are made to a continuous log agent, you can run an rpm upgrade command to upgrade the log agent, eliminating the need to uninstall and reinstall. This command installs the package for the upgraded agent and removes older versions. If the upgrade cannot be completed, the system reverts to the previous installed version so that the service can continue running.

To perform an upgrade, run the following command:

rpm -Uvh ciphercloud-logagent-<version> -centos7.86_64rpm

To verify the upgrade version, run the following command:

rpm -qa | grep ciphercloud-logagent
