Initial Actions

Lookout recommends this workflow to protect your fleet of mobile devices as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  1. Access the MES SMB console by logging in at https://mtp.lookout.com.
  2. Set your email preferences for notifications and summaries you want to receive.
  3. Make any changes to the default policies in accordance with your organization’s needs.

    Lookout has set default policy risk levels (none, low, medium, high) that are appropriate for most organizations. Use care if changing risk levels or responses to avoid unintended consequences like unnecessarily blocking users from accessing internal resources.

  4. Add any additional administrators.
    This sends an email invitation to those employees who will be administrators. Administrators install and activate Lookout for Work and then follow the prompts to activate the admin app. Use the console for this activity.
  5. Invite other employees to protect their devices by installing and activating Lookout for Work.

  6. Monitor device activations, following up with users having trouble activating.
    Ideally all invitations result in activations. Use the console or admin app for this activity.
  7. Manage devices as employees join or leave the organization.
    Send invitations to new employees. Remove devices of employees no longer with the organization. Use the console or admin app for this activity.
  8. Help employees resolve threat issues if they are having trouble resolving them.
