Make Queries
You query Lookout’s app analysis dataset using LQL (Lookout Query Language). LQL derives from the Apache Lucene language with some changes to support specialized searches in Lookout’s body of mobile app research. Visit the See more LQL help link at the lower left of the Research page for more information about the structure and syntax of LQL search commands.
The Research query capability provides these additional conveniences:
- All Research users may save and name successful queries for personal reuse (accessible only by you).
- Full admins and Analysts can save and name successful queries for team reuse (accessible to all Research users on your tenant).
- As you enter your query, the editor helps by showing contextual query completions.
- The editor supports keyboard shortcuts for showing contextual query completions (Ctrl+Space) and running queries (Shift+Enter).
- The Research query page has help content that is always accessible via the Help button in the upper right.
- The default Research query page has some example queries to help you get started.
