Preparing Ivanti Neurons for MDM for Integration

Creating an API User

As a best practice, you should create an API User for use solely between Lookout and Ivanti Neurons for MDM. This ensures that communication between Lookout MES and MobileIron is restricted to a single set of credentials.

  1. Log in to the Ivanti Neurons for MDM Admin Portal.
  2. Add an API user following the Ivanti documentation.
  3. Enter the following settings:
    FieldValue
    Username 
    MESAPI
    Email Address

    (Auto-generated) For example, admin+micapi@mycompany.com

    You can edit the Username and Email Address after creation. See Modifying the API User Name and Extending Their Password Expiration for details.

    First Name 
    MES
    Last Name 
    API User
    Password

    (Use a familiar set of Admin credentials. If your password does not meet Ivanti Neurons for MDM requirements, you are prompted to change it until it does).

    The API User is subject to the same password expiration settings as other users. See Modifying the API User Name and Extending Their Password Expiration for details on how to extend the current password.

    Assign Roles > Cisco ISE OperationsUnchecked
  4. Assign the following roles to your newly created user using the Ivanti documentation for guidance.
    • User Read Only | Cross-Space
    • Device Management | Space-Specific
    • Common Platform Services (CPS) | Cross-Space
